Nucfil Drum Vent Filters
NFTTM specializes in drum vents for hydrogen mitigation in nuclear material and waste containers. Our filter vents are specific to a variety of customers and project needs. Whether a client needs a typical threaded configuration for a 55-gallon drum or a fully integrated filter welded into a container lid, our engineers work closely with each customer to fully customize the filter vent best-suited for them.
Our Nucfil® filters have been used specifically by the Department of Energy (DOE) for over 30 years, providing solutions for Transuranic (TRU) and Remote Handled Waste processed at various DOE Weapons Complex sites across the United States. before transportation to the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) in Carlsbad, New Mexico. We even have filter vents that allow for the monitoring of headspace gas via septa that permit a needle to pass through without violating the filter media to enable sampling and testing of hydrogen and other flammable gasses.
In addition, we engineer and manufacture Nucfil® nuclear material containers for storage of plutonium oxide powders and fissile materials, automated equipment for venting and characterizing waste streams, and other specialized filter vents, containers, HEPA bags, and other nuclear safety products.
Our team of engineers work closely with our machinists and testing department, ensuring unique solutions to each individual project. We have a strong reputation in the nuclear industry and maintain a mature and frequently audited NQA-1 program. In recent years we have provided products to Taiwan, Japan, China, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Canada, France, Belgium, and are currently working on special projects with Sellafield in the UK.
